About Jane Lopez

After retiring from 30 years in public education as a Literacy Specialist and Special Educator, teaching students from first grade through high school, I’m continuing my passion for working with dyslexics and people with ADD.

Before I ever became a teacher, I felt sad for my dyslexic sister as she
struggled in school despite how creative and smart she was. She had so much to offer, and was frustrated that she couldn’t get the help she needed. She was likely my inspiration to specialize in working with students who struggled in school.

Now that I am using the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program, I have a much more effective way to assist people than the “disability” approach that I used as a teacher. Helping people use their
strengths to master their dyslexia and ADD makes much more sense, and honors their gifts.

I’m really pleased to be able to use this program with adults with dyslexia and ADD, as well as young people. I like that it is a program that respects who people are, because that is always what I have
tried to do.
